In Praise of Colour
If you’ve been following my work for a while, you’ll know I’m not shy when it comes to colour. I love it. I live for it. And I truly believe your wedding flowers are one of the best places to embrace it.
Colour has such power: it sets the mood, tells a story, and creates memories that feel vivid long after the day itself. A bouquet of hot pinks, fiery oranges, and golden yellows doesn’t just look joyful, it feels joyful. Deep reds and berry tones can wrap a room in richness and romance. Even soft
blues or unexpected greens can bring a calming, grounded beauty.
But here’s the thing: I know colour can feel a little daunting when you’re planning a wedding. It’s easy to fall back on “safe” neutrals because they feel timeless. And yes, whites and greens will always have their place (I love them too), but if your heart is secretly calling out for
something more luxurious, that’s where I come in.
A florist’s job isn’t just to arrange flowers, it’s to help you dream in colour. To show you palettes you might never have considered, and then bring them together in a way that feels true to you. Allow me to show you through mood boards, textures and seasonal stems how we can reflect YOU, your personality and really give your wedding day the vibe you’re looking for. And the best bit? Flowers are forgiving. They bend, dance, and blend in ways that make bold palettes feel effortless, not overwhelming.
So here’s my encouragement: be a little braver. If you love yellow, let’s run with it.
If you’re drawn to pink but worry it’s “too much,” I promise we can make it chic. Your wedding flowers should make you feel something — and colour is one of the best ways to get there.
Love is rarely beige. It’s bold, it’s bright, and it deserves to bloom in full colour.
